Design Doha and Triennale Milano present a four-week bootcamp for graduates from universities in Qatar, taking place in Milan from 20 April to 15 May 2026. Developed through a new collaboration between Triennale Milano and Qatar Museums’ Design Doha Biennial, the programme creates an opportunity for emerging practitioners to engage directly with one of the world’s leading design capitals through workshops, research, and interdisciplinary exchange.
Established by Qatar Museums, Design Doha is an international biennial dedicated to design excellence across the MENASA region and beyond. Through exhibitions, commissions, awards, and public programming, it supports designers, artisans, and makers while positioning Doha as a global platform for contemporary design.
Conceived within this spirit of international dialogue and knowledge-sharing, the bootcamp brings together five selected graduates from universities in Qatar and institutions based in Doha, with backgrounds spanning design, architecture, anthropology, and cultural studies. The selected participants are Reema Abu Hassan, Abdulrahman Al Muftah, Adriane de Souza, Maryam Hashim, and Meryem Omerspahic.
During their four-week stay, participants take part in an intensive programme of workshops, meetings, and site visits curated by Triennale Milano. The first week coincides with Milan Design Week, allowing participants to experience Salone del Mobile and a range of events across the city. The following weeks focus on thematic explorations that encourage shared processes of research, making, and reflection.
The programme promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together participants with diverse practices to work as a single team while connecting them with designers, brands, and institutions across Milan. Through encounters with the city’s materials, gestures, and everyday codes, participants develop new perspectives on how urban identity can be translated into design outcomes.
At its core, the bootcamp seeks to build a bridge between Milan’s design culture and Qatari traditions of hospitality, creating space for intercultural dialogue, experimentation, and future collaboration.
