Hours and Guidelines

Fereej Al Asmakh bases its opening hours on the Qatar Museums pattern used at the National Museum of Qatar and the Museum of Islamic Art: 9:00 am–7:00 pm on regular days, late opening to 9:00 pm on Thursdays, and 1:30 pm–9:00 pm on Fridays. Unlike the QM museums, the site has no weekly closure day: it is open seven days a week for the Biennial, with maintenance and collection care carried out before opening and after closing.

Visitor rules (Qatar Museums practice)

  • Last entry to every house is 45 minutes before closing time.
  • Invigilators and Visitor Experience staff begin clearing houses 45 minutes before closing, so that all visitors are out on time.
  • After 7:00 pm (9:00 pm on Thursdays and Fridays), only spaces holding an approved event on the consolidated calendar stay open. All other houses close and are sealed, and evening visitors are kept to the event route.
  • Hours may change during Ramadan, and Qatar Museums closes on the first day of Eid. Neither falls within the exhibition period; Ramadan is expected to begin in early February 2027, during dismantling, when working hours for dismantling crews will be adjusted.
  • The site is open on official public holidays, with peak-day plans as listed under Special dates.
