Mary-Lynn is a ceramist, whose work builds on the irregular and imperfect nature of the medium, developing site-specific installations, sculptural works and homeware.Carlo, a product designer and interior designer, tackles preconceived social, cultural and architectural notions through the creation of playful and versatile objects. In 2016 the siblings who live in Beirut embarked on a creative partnership.Both methodical and impromptu in their approach, their work employs hands-on experimentation that results in exciting and thoughtful objects to live with.

What inspired you to pursue a career in design?
the Freedom to create what ever we want.
How does your cultural or regional context influence your design work?
the craft, culture ad environment we live in.
What is your design philosophy or approach to creative problem-solving?
fun, playfulness, colorful.
Describe a project you're most proud of and why it's meaningful to you.
The Elephant Projectwe did during covid because we were bored. We ended up creating a new technic and produce a lot of different pieces that are located arround the world today.
Who are your design influences or mentors, and how have they shaped your work?
we are influenced by cartoons, different cultures and social interactions.
What role do you think design plays in shaping communities and culture in the MENASA region?
it help society to see a different perspective of things.
How do you stay inspired and continue to evolve your creative practice?
travel, encounters, movies, exhibitions, etc.
