Christian Zahr studied architecture at Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts (ALBA) in Beirut. After graduating in 2003, he interned at Ateliers Jean Nouvel in Paris (2004). In 2012 he established Studio Christian Zahr — through which he works as an architect, landscape designer, object/ furniture designer, and artist. In 2020 he started to teach at Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts University. Zahr’s work moves fluidly across different scales — from architecture to landscaping to small objects — blurring the lines between disciplines to “generate a new language.” His practice investigates the layered relationships between ruins, architecture, landscape, and materiality.
