Design Doha 2024
Launched in 2024, the inaugural edition of Design Doha set the stage for a bold new design movement in the region. Featuring Arab Design Now, a landmark exhibition spotlighting 74 designers from across the Arab world, the biennale explored the evolving narratives of design through immersive showcases, thought-provoking talks, and interactive workshops. Rooted in the themes of tradition, innovation, and sustainability, Design Doha 2024 established a foundation for ongoing creative exchange and positioned the biennale as a vital force in shaping the future of design.
Exhibitions
The 2024 exhibitions showcased the best of regional and international design, bringing together visionary artists, designers, and craftspeople. These exhibitions highlighted the intersections of tradition and innovation, offering a platform for creative dialogue and collaboration.
Residency
The Design Doha Residency, celebrates the connectivity and intersections of contemporary craft practices and innovative design among International and Qatari makers. This exchange will manifest during Design Doha through a research residency for the designers at Liwan, where the makers will host open studios, talks, hands-on workshops, and press viewings.
FORUM
The Design Doha forum's goal is to inspire attendees to envision cities as living canvases where design serves as a vehicle for communication, personal and community empowerment, economic growth, and meaningful cultural exchange.
Programs
