The Taif Rose, Arabian Jasmine and Lavender are the three chosen flowers, each one contributes not only olfactory and medicinal value, but also a strong territorial identity, linking the proposal to the natural wealth of the region. Interestingly, these same flowers appear repeatedly in the embroidery and patterns of Spanish Manila shawls, textile pieces that are an essential part of flamenco iconography. We find this aesthetic crossover particularly appealing: a plant motif shared by both cultures which, reinterpreted, dialogues with the central theme of Dubai Design Week, focused on the reinterpretation of artisanal details with great cultural significance.
The exhibition takes the form of three pavilions, each dedicated to one of these flowers. At their center, they will house the corresponding plantation and will be covered by structures that diffuse their fragrance.
The design of the seating is adapted in each case to offer different ways of experiencing breathing and social interaction: from open dialogue to shared introspection.
