The Design Doha Biennial 2026 cultivates an open field of exchange, where regional and international voices meet on equal ground. Here, design is understood as a practice that advances through encounters, through the frictions, affinities, and negotiations that arise when different worlds come into contact. What emerges is not merely a collection of projects but a shared act of reading the cartographies—a way of understanding the present, connecting distant geographies, and reimagining the material and cultural conditions that shape our lives.

Around this core, the Biennial activates multiple spaces for encounter—moments of shared thinking, exchange, and making, including interactive workshops that foreground knowledge transmission as a living practice. The public programme curated by Art for Tomorrow places dialogue at the centre, treating conversation itself as a form of design. Through the presence of leading international voices, these sessions reveal how new relationships and imaginaries can take shape, offering unexpected points of convergence and resonance.
